On November 5, 2020, Eitvydas Bajarunas, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in Russian Federation, made a working visit to the sanitary products production plant of Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC (Vorsino industrial park, a subsidiary of Arkhangelsk PPM JSC, part of Austrian-German group Pulp Mill Holding).
The director of Arkhbum Tissue Group Alexander Tufanov showed the plant for the Lithuanian delegation and told about the main process stages of production, manufactured products and development prospects.
The Lithuanian guests visited the construction site of the plant second stage with a capacity of 70 thousand tons of base paper per year, where another finished product warehouse will start operating in February 2021.
Alexander Tufanov emphasized that the Arkhbum Tissue Group plant meets the highest European environmental standards. The second stage of the plant will have the same process concept as the existing one - the eco-project status: a new own energy center, providing for the use of thermal energy in the form of saturated steam, and new innovative treatment facilities.
During the visit, the parties also discussed the issues of logistics and export of ATG products. Alexander Tufanov said that the company's products under its own brand Soffione are already being successfully sold in the countries of the former Soviet Union, Eastern and Western Europe: about 15% of sanitary tissue products are exported to Germany, Croatia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus. The base paper (about 50%) is also exported to Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Lithuanian delegation personally made sure in this because at the time of the guided tour, a large batch of Soffione products was being prepared for shipment by trucks to Germany. “In European countries, our products are popular both due to their high quality and their compliance with European environmental standards,” noted Alexander Tufanov. “We can surely say that Arkhbum Tissue Group is a plant of a high European level.”
According to Eitvydas Bajarunas, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in the Russian Federation, the companies themselves agree on cooperation, but a lot depends on the impressions of the official delegation, especially when the attaché for Customs and Commerce is a part of it.
“We need to learn more about each other by visiting places, and then ideas will appear on how to cooperate, what else can be done,” said Eitvydas Bajarunas. “Existing connections should be expanded.”
Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC (Vorsino industrial park, Kaluga region) – the largest investment project of Arkhangelsk PPM JSC. The investments amount to 11,5 bln RUB.
Nowadays, the company sales successfully its own branded Soffione products all around Russia.
We will remind that the capacity of the first line of the new Arkhbum Tissue Group plant is 70 KT of sanitary products per year with the prospect of increasing up to 210 KT of sanitary products per year.
