Within the Environmental Efficiency Enhancement Program approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Arkhangelsk PPM JSC starts the project on implementation of oxygen-alkali delignification (hereinafter - OAD) at the Pulp Production Shop worth 5.5 billion rubles.
According to the results of the tender process, the equipment supplier is Valmet.
The new delignification system will make it possible to remove lignin from high yield semi-finished products more efficiently.
The mill’s new project is a logical continuation of the pulp production changeover to ECF technology, which is generally accepted as a global industrial rule to increase the environmental safety of pulp and paper production and products.
As a result of implementation of this measure, the current level of water consumption will not increase while the mill production capacity will be increased, the specific discharge of pollutants for COD value will be reduced by 2.5%.
The Environmental Efficiency Enhancement Program of APPM includes more than 20 measures of environmental protection purposes.
Finance cost for the program amounts to 18,2 billion rubles.
By 2030, the mill plans to reduce the specific discharge of pollutants into the Northern Dvina River, measured in definitive integral indices, by 45% - 55%
