Arkhangelsk PPM manages forests responsibly, balancing industrial operations with the long-term protection and sustainable use of forest resources.
Our approach is aligned with the goals of Russia`s national Environmental Well-being project and its Forest Conservation initiative. Key priorities include:
- protecting high conservation value forests, including intact forest landscapes that play a vital role in climate regulation;
- establishing buffer zones around the habitats of rare and endangered species;
- implementing measures to reduce wildfire risks during forest operations.
Self-initiated Forest Certification
Currently the List of FSC product groups manufactured by JSC Arkhangelsk PPM includes the entire range of APPM finished products.
The company’s development strategy includes a further increase in the output of FSC certified finished products. This is facilitated by development of voluntary forest certification in Russia.
В 2022 году, после прекращения работы международных систем сертификации в России, Архангельский ЦБК поддержал инициативу по созданию национальной системы лесной сертификации. В 2024 году компания совместно со своими партнёрами — участниками групповой сертификации — получила сертификаты НСЛС.
Сертификат соответствия деятельности по лесоуправлению подтверждает следование компании принципам ответственного лесопользования.
Сертификат соответствия деятельности по управлению цепочкой поставок подтверждает легальность и устойчивость происхождения древесины и продукции из неё на всех этапах «от леса до продукта».

Our Forest Seed Center
The Arkhangelsk PPM Forest Seed Center is a key element of the company`s long-term forest restoration strategy, based on the principle: the amount of forests restored equals the amount harvested.
Opened in 2025, the Center is one of the most advanced forest nurseries in Russia. Its production capacity is 3.7 million seedlings per year, with the potential to increase to 9 million. The Center already accounts for 25% of all pine and spruce planting material produced in the Arkhangelsk Region. The use of container-grown seedlings with advanced root systems ensures high survival rates and successful establishment after planting.
Combining advanced technologies with a science-based approach, the Center grows pine and spruce seedlings for forest restoration projects across Russia — helping expand reforestation efforts and create green belts around cities
