APPM Has Ranked in the Top Three among Russian Companies for the Nature Protection Costs

On June 28, 2019 Rating Agency RAEX published a list of top-20 Russian companies for the nature protection costs. (https://raex-rr.com/country/RAEX-600/ecology_leaders).

JSC “APPM” made the top three with the following figures: environmental protection costs - 2.95% of revenues (2017); place in the ranking – third out of twenty.

As noted in the study, in 2017 top three leaders had spent almost 32 bln rubles for environmental protection measures, which is more than half a billion dollars at annual-average exchange rate.

As it follows from the rating, most part of companies spending for nature preservation and restoration, represent oil, metal and pulp and paper industry. Countrywide figures are a lot lower. Annual part of ecological costs in Russia is about 0.8% of gross domestic product.

Top 10 is represented by Norilsk Nickel, Uralkali, Rosatom, PhosAgro, Rosneft, Metalloinvest, etc.
