State-of-the-art production processes of Arkhangelsk PPM will make the air cleaner

The test of the second board machine (BM-2) was performed at Arkhangelsk PPM. As reported the press office of Governor and Arkhangelsk region government, the first results were estimated by Igor Orlov, a Governor, Dmitriy Zyliov, APPM CEO and representatives of region media sources.

The BM-2 rebuilt works were being performed day and night. There were 12 representative of Valmet on site and approximately 400 workers of contractors as well as APPM specialists were involved in this work.

Completely upgraded BM-2 at Arkhangelsk PPM became the largest and the most modern board machine in Russia.

- This is a result of work done by a huge number of people, specific production as a result of big investment project implementation, - said Igor Orlov, a Governor of Arkhangelsk region. – A new machine is a top of knowledge in the field of wood chemistry, processes, and as result, we receive up-to-date commercially successful product.

The Head of the region also noted, that Arkhangelsk region took a step further in creating new high-tech jobs, a breaking through to new markets and improving its environmental standards.

- The implementation of large investment projects is an important direction in the development of the region, they allowing creating jobs and therefore being confident in the stable future of the entire region, - said Igor Orlov.

In addition, the installation of energy-efficient equipment will reduce the load on the environment for water consumption and wastewater disposal, energy consumption. As said Dmitriy Zyliov, CEO of Arkhangelsk PPM JSC, the reduction in electricity consumption will be approximately 5%, the reduction in mill water consumption - 12%.

- We invested almost 7 billion rubles into process, this is a very serious project for us, the result of which is an additional production, an increase in profits and finally the additional taxes to the budgets at all levels, - said the Head of the mill.

The construction of a new evaporation plant is also the part of a large investment project: three boilers were installed to burn all the odorous gases that are generated during the pulp cooking for board production, so the air in Novodvinsk will be cleaner.
