The Future of the Corporate Printed Issues Was Discussed in Novodvinsk

14 jun 2022

The Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill and the Academy of Communication and Information “Silver Threads” (Moscow) held a practical conference “The Future of the Corporate Book in Corporate Communications”.

Public relations specialists of various industrial enterprises exchanged experience and discussed the technologies for creating modern corporate publications.

“The Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill not coincidentally became the venue for such an event. And though the main type of our activity is industrial production, we also consider social orientation including educational activities to be of no small importance, noted Dmitry Zyliov, Director General of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill JSC. – Over the passed 12 years the plant has published 5 books on the history of the enterprise, its achievements, its employees. We even have children’s editions. Many of our works have had the honour of winning various awards and prizes”.

The books “The Birth of a Giant. 1934-1940” and “Time for Feat of Heroism. 1941-1945” have received the largest number of awards. Their authors are the employees of the corporate projects department Pavel Fasonov and Yelena Zakharova. The two-volume book was prepared on the initiative of Vladimir Krupchak, member of the Board of Directors of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill JSC.

The authors of the edition told their colleagues from St. Petersburg, Solikamsk, Krasnokamsk, Arzamas, Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk and Koryazhma about the history of creating the book, about many years of working in archives, about the difficulties in collecting documents, photoes and evidence of those distant times.

According to general opinion of the seminar participants the epoch of big, colourful and expensive photo albums has passed. Nowadays for the popularization of particular industry it is necessary to master new modern approaches, combine elements of Internet technologies in printed issue, use concise language, focus on visual line. Such elements as QR-codes with links to Internet version, video and audio recordings are becoming highly-demanded. Properly organized work of the expert council at the stage of preparing the book is an important element of work on a corporate publication. But the most difficult thing is to express the idea contained in the book as fully as possible.

Within the framework of the conference the participants of the meeting held a number of practical classes. The organizers of the meeting decided to hold such seminars and exchange professional experience on a regular basis.
