APPM reduced the gross emissions of pollutants into atmosphere by 5.8% in the first half of 2019

Arkhangelsk PPM JSC traditionally summed up the work in the field of environmental protection. According to the mill’s environmental department, the amount of sewage sludge generation decreased by 14.5 thousand tons or 29% in January-June 2019 compared to the same period of last year. The amount of bark-wood waste generation decreased by 60 thousand tons or 24%.

Gross emissions of pollutants into the air decreased by 5.8% or 850 tons in relation to the last year’s figure.

The volume of fresh water intake from a water body, water removal and waste disposal remained at the level of the same period in 2018.

Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill JSC with the assistance of the Solzensky Production and Experimental Plant released voluntarily 2019 fry of salmon with weight at least 12 grams to the Solza River. The release of fry took place on June 5 and it was coincided with the World Environmental Protection Day.

A contract has been concluded for the release of 9,600 pieces of trout fry into the Onega River, release is scheduled on autumn this year. This event is carried out annually as part of the fulfillment of one of the allowing conditions for the intake of water resources from a water body - the arm Mechka (water body Mechka) of the Northern Dvina River.
