Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill awarded the title "Patron of the Arkhangelsk Region"

28 nov 2018

A solemn ceremony was held in the government of the Arkhangelsk region to award the titles “Benefactor of the Arkhangelsk Region” and “Patron of the Arkhangelsk Region” on November 27, 2018.

The title "Patron of the Arkhangelsk Region" was received by Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill, JSC this year.

According to the administrative director of the plant, Olga Savvina, who received the award from the governor of the Arkhangelsk region at the ceremony, charity and patronage are among the most important areas of activity of APPM which were formed and continue to be supported by a member of the Board of Directors of the company, Vladimir Krupchak. “Today, our company helps talented children, publishes books, participates in creating a comfortable urban environment - supports many socially significant projects,” said Olga Savvina.

In 2018, APPM has donated more than 30 million rubles
for charity and patronage.

Enlightenment is very important for APPM and therefore it constantly supports publishing. In particular, a collection of memoirs about the Second World War "The thread of memory should not break", the manual "History of the Solovetsky school for sailor boys", the book "Russian Arctic" for the anniversary of the Arkhangelsk region and the Arctic Project of Lomonosov for the International Arctic Forum, children's publication about the history of the native land “There are 33 Nikola from Kholmogor to Cola”, a vocational guidance informative book for schoolchildren “Paper stories” and its practical continuation “Journey to a Paper country” were published with the financial assistance of the plant.

One of the most significant and important investments of APPM in the development of culture and history of Russia was the financial support in publishing a collection dedicated to an unknown page in the chronicle of the House of Romanov - the study of the remains probably belonging to Russian Emperor John VI, “Finding in Kholmogory: from version to examination” . Currently, a report on the results of georadar work carried out in the Antoniev-Siya monastery has also been published under the auspices of Vladimir Yaroslavovich. This is a large-scale work that continues up today. Probably its results will be able to make a huge contribution to the history of the Russian Orthodox Church. For these purposes, the plant has sent more than 6 million rubles.

Taking into account the experience gained over the long years of charity work the Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill launched a large-scale program to improve living conditions in Novodvinsk in the format of a social project competition, which was called “40 good deeds for the 40th anniversary of Novodvinsk” in 2017.

The contest "The 40th anniversary of Novodvinsk - 40 good deeds" was a powerful start to a new tradition. The management team of the APPM decided to continue it but at the same time they decided to cover not only Novodvinsk but also left-bank municipalities of the Primorsky District in 2018. The competition was named “4D: Social Dimension - Let's Do Good Deeds”.

The activity of APPM was estimated at the level of the North-West Federal District: we took the second place in the contest “Leaders of Corporate Charity”, the results of which were summed up on November 7 in St. Petersburg. This event was held by the Donors Forum, the largest domestic grantmakers and charitable organizations association in association with the PwC network and the Vedomosti business newspaper. The experience of the Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill was recognized as worthy of attention and mass media, and its projects “40 good deeds for the 40th anniversary of Novodvinsk” and “4D: social dimension - Let's Do Good Deeds” are examples of socially responsible business at the All-Russian level.
