At the end of 2019, the total reduction of GHG emissions from the implementation of the APPM's carbon projects amounted to 328 thousand tons of CO2-eq.

The verification of the GHG emissions report for 2019 prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol has been successfully completed at Arkhangelsk PPM JSC.

The verification was carried out by the auditing firm KPMG JSC.

The amount of total direct and energy indirect emissions of Arkhangelsk PPM, including subsidiaries and their branches, amounted to 1 845 785 t СО2-eq, which is 40.5% less than emissions of the base year of 1990. The amount of other indirect emissions amounted to 440 641 t СО2-eq.

In accordance with the adopted climate strategy for the period up to 2020 and 2030, the company systematically implements the projects aimed at reducing GHG emissions in the following main directions:

  • reducing the production power capacity;

  • improving the fuel use efficiency;

  • increasing the share of biomass in the fuel balance;

  • change to less carbon intensive fuels;

  • reduction of methane emissions from waste disposal sites.

At the end of 2019, the total reduction of GHG emissions from the implementation of carbon projects amounted to 328 thousand tons of CO2-eq.
