At the end of 2021, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill invested almost 440 million rubles in social policy

Annually JSC “Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill” allocates significant funds for the implementation of the social programs in various areas. In 2021 439.2 million rubles were allocated to domestic and regional social areas. 129.3 million rubles of this sum were allocated to charity.

Considerable attention is paid by the company to ensuring safe working conditions for its employees. Every year “Action Plan to improve working conditions and labour protection” is developed. In 2021 the Action Plan was fully implemented, the investments amounted to 213.4 million rubles which is 3.9 times higher than the requirements established by the Labour Code of the Russian Federation.

The current management system of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill meets the international requirements in the field of labour safety and health protection. The company received a certificate of compliance with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 “Occupational health and safety management systems”.

Personnel training is a significant component of the plant’s social activities. The main component in the structure of training is the training, retraining and advanced training of workers, as well as mandatory training related to the certification of personnel according to the rules of Rostekhnadzor, training in labour protection, fire, transport, environmental, radiation safety, training of managers and specialists in advanced training courses, seminars, trainings. Training expenses in 2021 amounted to 22 million rubles.

At present about 20 social programs are being carried out by the company. The company-‘s obligations are fixed not only by the Collective Agreement but also by voluntary corporate commitments. The main areas are moneyed assistance (for families with many children, at the birth of a child, for funerals, for non-working pensioners on anniversaries, for medical operations and examinations, etc.), rehabilitation treatment (including for the employees’ children),voluntary medical insurance, organization of sports activities for both APPM employees and non-working pensioners, city and corporate sports events, organization of children's summer holidays, support for the Youth Council and the Council of Veterans, vouchers to a sanatorium-preventorium for pensioners, New Year's children's gifts, New Year's performances, etc.

The social and charitable activities of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill are aimed at supporting and developing the territory of presence and are carried out with the participation of the Corporate Charitable foundation which invests in the development of mass and children’s sport, healthcare, cultural heritage preservation and the provision of assistance to vulnerable categories of the population, etc.

Also over the past four years JSC “Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill” has been implementing the social initiative competition “4D” aimed at supporting public projects and volunteering ideas in Novodvinsk and in the Primorsky district. The most popular project categories are aimed at providing public services and utilities, voluntary work and volunteering, culture, creative work, patriotic education, sports and a healthy lifestyle, ecology.

In total, over the period of the competition duration more than 180 socially significant projects were successfully implemented among which projects aimed at improvement of the territory, arranging sportsgrounds and playgrounds, the holding of educational, patriotic, cultural events, volunteering and social support of the most vulnerable social groups.

Since 2016, APPM has been implementing the Housing for Young Professionals project. Within this project funds for supporting subprogram “Proving housing for young families” are allocated. Due to this, young families of the enterprise employees acquire the right of priority to receive housing certificates.

In total over the period of the program implementation more than 100 families have improved their living conditions. The APPM financed a share of the local budget of about 22 million rubles.
