In Ulyanovsk Region the implementation of the project for corrugated cardboard production is ongoing

20 may 2022

The head of the region Alexey Russkikh got acquainted with the progress of the investment project implementation.

“The domestic enterprise for corrugated cardboard production in Ulyanovsk plans to expand its premises this year and gradually increase the number of jobs to 250. The plant aims to reach its full capacity and produce up to 190 million square metres of products per year”, said Alexey Russkikh.

Civil works for the implementation of the second and the third stages of the project are in full swing on the “Arkhbum”, JSC site. Storage facilities with total area of more than 20 thousand square metres for keeping raw materials and finished products are being constructed, additional production equipment is being installed. The works are scheduled to be completed this year.

“We are waiting for the completion of the implementation of the second and third stages by the fourth quarter: we are commissioning full-fledged warehouses for storing raw materials and finished products. The volume of production in March reached three million square meters, and this is not the limit. During the current year, we will produce 6-7 million square meters of finished products per month. After the launch of the second and third stages of the project, we plan to further increase production volumes,” said Irina Sherstneva, Director General of “Arkhbum” JSC.

We remind that the launch of the first stage of the enterprise took place last August with the participation of Denis Manturov, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. At present 160 employees work at the plant, after reaching its full capacity 250 residents of the region will be employed. The enterprise is fully prepared for working in new economic conditions. The company uses domestically produced raw material and materials for corrugated cardboard production, violations in logistic chains and a serious rise in the cost of products are not expected.

The enterprise supplies its products to the manufacturers of the Russian Federation. Among them there are the enterprises of food industry (producers of dairy products, meat products, confectionery) and agro-industrial complex.

The investment project is supported by the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation. “We help in all matters. Issues related to the provision of infrastructure and the execution of permits have already been resolved, the enterprise is fully operational. At present, the government of the region and the city administration are providing assistance in terms of landscaping, reconstruction of roads. Today, the issue of building a road junction at the exit from the Arsenal microdistrict to the Dimitrovgrad highway was also raised. It is important that it will solve the problem not only of this enterprise, but also of the residents of the microdistrict,” said Sergey Vasin, head of the Development Corporation.

At the meeting, the issue of integrated development of the infrastructure of the microdistrict was discussed. Now the traffic pattern through the railway crossing causes inconvenience for the population. Based on the results of the inspection of the territory, the head of the region instructed the city administration to develop documentation for the construction of a new traffic interchange and work out the issue of inclusion in the Safe High-Quality Roads national project for 2024.
