At mill site of new evaporation plant of APPM, JSC the main equipment of Valmet company is being installed. At the moment the works on installation of tank farm of new evaporation plant are performed simultaneously: i.e. 16 tanks with the capacity from 104 to 3500 m3.
According to Project Manager for construction of new evaporation plant of APPM production development department Alexander Pomelov the next stage will include installation of equipment for circulating water cooling (cooling tower) and construction of networks for evaporation plant connection.
“The main peculiarity of construction is high weight characteristics of equipment – said Project Manager for evaporation plant of General Contractor Strabag, CJSC Alexander Sokhach. — Special machinery was used for its unloading at the territory of the mill – cranes with hoisting capacity 400 and 350 tons. Equipment mounting is planned to be finished by September. In December the construction of workshop building will be finished completely, after this we will continue mounting equipment and pipelines inside and start testing and start-up and commissioning works. Due to technical complexity of equipment these works will continue for half a year. The beginning of integrated tests of evaporation plant is planned for June 2019”.
As it was announced earlier, the construction of evaporation plant is performed within the frames of the second stage of priority investment project in the sphere of forest exploitation “Board Production Rebuild”. This project is unique for Russian pulp and paper industry: not only equipment itself is innovative, but the layout of process flow diagram as well (ability to evaporate black and red liquors) and the sequence of operating procedures.
Arkhangelsk PPM CEO Dmitriy Zyliov explained that a new evaporation plant is needed for the mill in order to increase the capacity of modernized BM-2. “The machine is in operation now but we plan a long-term shutdown in January-March 2019, during which we will rebuild the equipment – told Dmitriy Zyliov. – Thus, we plan to increase the capacity of board machine by 97 thousand tons – it is about 30% from actual capacity. For producing additional products, it is necessary to produce more semi-product – unbleached pulp for making board. It means that during cooking more black and red liquors will be produced. At evaporation plant we will evaporate moisture from them for further incineration and recovery for next cooking. The capacity of new evaporation plant is two times higher than the capacity of the old one”.
APPM’s investments to construction of new evaporation plant amount to 6.5 bln. rub. This sum includes the equipment at the cost of 40 mln. Euro, design engineering and construction and installation works.
According to Dmitriy Zyliov the start-up of evaporation plant will bring a serious ecological effect. “We plan to reduce water consumption to 50 %, emissions to atmosphere – to 65 % - emphasized APPM CEO. — Within the scope of evaporation plant construction it is planned to install three shell-type boilers designed for incineration of gases generated during semi-chemical pulp cooking and on evaporation plant itself. After treatment secondary condensate, which appears after liquors evaporation, will be used for pulp washing”.
